Lea Muses a Dutch-born American designer is expected to be the next "it bag" designer. Lea is well known in New York as a model, and artist in the downtown scene. As driven and most successful CEO's, she is an extremely creative person with a superior eye for style. Known as "soft spoken" she has a very calm demeanor often described as a pensive mastermind and a bit of a comedian. Born into a legacy of inventors and designers she is a natural source of inspiration. For this reason she lives up to her name; Muses.

Growing up my mother, (who studied hair at Loreal Paris® in the 60's) owned a hair salon that was above a vintage store. I grew up with the smell of shampoo and vintage clothing and dreams of modeling in Paris. It was there I discovered the excitement of dressing up. Soon after, my lunchbox got traded in for a black patent leather purse. "-Lea Muses

While modeling in Milan, she was romanced by the historic streets, and fine leather craftsmanship of Italy. Lea named the first collection "Via Vasto" for this reason. The title is not only a street in Italy frequented by Miss Muses, but the phrase translates to english as "immense way". Fitting description for Lea Muses future as a fashion icon.
Not just a face of some of the largest commercial campaigns such as IPOD, AMEX, Glamour Magazine and more..no, she doesnt stop there.
Lea came highly recomended to the Ars Arpel school in Milan for advanced training in accessories design by the head of the Accessories Department at the Fashion Institute of Technology. She has also helped start companies as a creative director since the age of 19.
Lea began assisting legendary graphic artist Cey Adams (former art director of defjam records), She has earned her stripes in the urban world of art as well as an apprenticeship with couture handbag designer Anthony Luciano.
Her designs have been recognized by Betsey Johnson, Robert Verdi, Lloyd Boston, to name a few. All of whom are staples in the world of style, and Lea Muses is well on her way of joining that list.

Model Lea Muses knows about must-have accessories. Last year, she was
the stunning silhouette hawking the iPod. This year, shes making the
bag to carry it in. Im ready to be in stores in Boston, New York and Europe, said the
founder of House of Muses, a shoe and handbag design house in New York
City. Thats my future. The 25-year-old, who attended school in Boston and whose bohemian
chic iPod poster shot got global coverage, has been striking a pose for
cameras since 1995. But when she found herself giving advice to stylists
and photographers on fashion, she knew there was more out there for her.
House of Muses is really like my alter ego, she said. Its kindof how my being an artist has infiltrated into my modeling career. As soon as I came up with the name, I had chills. Its my destiny. Muses and her former design partner entered a fashion contest hosted
by famed Hollywood stylist Patricia Field and wowed both the media and buyers. Everyone was just amazed at our stuff, she said. The ball started rolling and we really weren't ready for it back then. She has since defined it as an accessories company It has grown vastly since their start in 2004. She has quite an industrious life and promising future.Born in Holland, Muses was an art major and track star at UMass-Amherst before moving to New York City to study at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Muses hopes her fashions become as ubiquitous as the iPod. As far as being a pitchwoman for the worlds most popular MP3 player, she said
the memories are good. Whats funny is they let me wear my bracelet for the iPod shoot and
it is striped and clunky, so when I was walking down to Herald Square in New
York last year, I was frustrated about something and threw my head back
and looked up to see this 12-story poster of me. I recognized the
bracelet. And my hair. It was a great shoot, she said. I had a touch of whiplash for

Lea Muses on her inspiration
"The search for inspiration is like trying to catch a perfect cloud. A chase of the ever- changing muse. Why attempt to attain a cloud? It can't be bottled up and sold on a shelf. The cloud is an illusion; It disappears, because it only exists in the sky. The intent is not to actually catch a cloud, but to study it in hopes of someday being able to invent such a whimsical work of art. The journey, the idea, and the cloud come in many forms and are not to be merely contained. Instead it is the passage through these things that forms the treasure. Like clouds, ideas are available for us all. In order to reach this inspiration we must all imagine that the very air around us is the sky."
